Director of Engineering | London | Hybrid | up to £145k + 20% Bonus
La Fosse has partnered with a global product-led technology business looking to strengthen its engineering leadership team. We're looking for a Director of Engineering to help lead the next stage of growth and maturity across a large-scale, customer-facing engineering organisation.
Your Mission
Create the leadership layer beneath the VP of Engineering, bringing the structure, accountability and operational excellence needed to help a global engineering organisation perform at its best, whilst driving delivery across business-critical products and platforms.
What They're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Director of Engineering, Head of Engineering or equivalent senior engineering leadership role
- Track record leading Engineering Managers, Lead Engineers and senior technical leaders across multiple teams
- Experience managing engineering organisations of 50+ engineers with accountability for delivery, performance and workforce planning
- Strong background within modern product-led software engineering environments
- Ability to balance engineering quality, delivery commitments and commercial priorities
- Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with executive leadership, customers and cross-functional teams
- Experience driving organisational effectiveness, engineering excellence and operational maturity at scale
- Exposure to budget ownership, vendor management and long-term engineering capability planning
- Practical experience introducing AI-enabled engineering practices or improving engineering productivity through automation

Location: Hybrid (London office, two days per week)
Interview Process: Efficient process including leadership discussions and a presentation focused on engineering enablement and organisational leadership.
