ENGINEERING DIRECTOR
£135,000
FULLY REMOTE
This is a rare opportunity to join a global healthcare and life sciences organisation at the beginning of a major data transformation. You'll help build and scale a newly established Data Hub, leading engineering delivery, shaping architecture, and creating the foundations for future AI and machine learning capabilities across the business.
THE COMPANY
Our client is a global consultancy operating within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, supporting some of the world's leading life sciences organisations. As part of a significant investment in data and technology, they are building a centralised Data Hub responsible for consolidating legacy platforms, establishing governance standards and enabling future AI-driven products and services.

THE ROLE
- Lead and develop a growing team of Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers and Platform Engineers
- Own engineering delivery, sprint planning, capacity management and technical quality
- Drive architecture decisions, engineering standards and platform reliability
- Act as the key link between business stakeholders, product teams and engineering
- Support the build-out of a modern enterprise data platform and Data Hub
- Remove technical blockers, manage delivery risks and improve engineering processes
- Partner with senior leadership on hiring, team growth and long-term strategy
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong background in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Platform Engineering or Software Engineering
- Previous experience leading technical engineering teams
- Strong expertise with modern cloud data platforms, ideally Snowflake
- Experience with DBT, orchestration tools, SQL and Python
- Track record delivering data platform migrations, consolidations or greenfield builds
- Experience reviewing technical designs and making architectural decisions
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working within regulated or compliance-sensitive environments is advantageous

- Up to £135,000 base salary
