Delta Mobrey is a specialist engineering and manufacturing business supplying critical products and solutions to customers operating in the nuclear, energy, oil & gas, marine, and other highly regulated industries worldwide.
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead and develop our international Engineering function across the UK, Bulgaria, and Malaysia.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a senior leadership role with responsibility for engineering strategy, engineering capability, engineering delivery, and organisational development. We are looking for an individual who can build and lead high-performing engineering teams whilst ensuring that engineering activities consistently deliver against customer requirements, quality expectations, regulatory obligations, and business objectives.
The Opportunity
This role offers the opportunity to have a significant impact on the future of Engineering within an established and respected engineering business.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing and deploying the Engineering strategy.
- Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple international locations.
- Building engineering capability and succession plans.
- Developing future engineering leaders and technical specialists.
- Driving improvements in engineering performance, quality, delivery, and efficiency.
- Strengthening engineering governance, systems, and processes.
- Working closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to support business growth.
- Supporting product development, product improvement, and lifecycle management activities.
- Ensuring engineering activities support both customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

You will lead the Engineering function from day one and will work closely with our Chief Engineer, who provides extensive product, application, and market knowledge. This partnership will support your understanding of our products and customer applications whilst enabling you to focus on leading and developing the Engineering organisation.
About You
You will be an experienced engineering leader with a strong technical foundation and a track record of delivering engineering excellence within a design and manufacturing environment.
You do not need previous experience of Delta Mobrey's specific products. However, you should be comfortable operating within regulated or technically demanding industries where engineering discipline, compliance, and customer requirements are critical to success.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience in:
- Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Developing engineering organisations and engineering capability.
- Requirements-led product development.
- Engineering governance and design assurance.
- Verification, validation, and qualification activities.
- Product compliance within regulated environments.
- Translating customer requirements into robust engineering solutions.
- Driving continuous improvement and organisational change.
- Working across multiple sites, functions, or international teams.
- Balancing technical, operational, and commercial priorities.

Experience gained within sectors such as:
- Nuclear
- Defence
- Aerospace
- Marine
- Oil & Gas
- Process Instrumentation
- Safety-Critical Industrial Equipment
would be particularly advantageous.
A degree in Engineering or a related discipline is essential. Chartered Engineer status would be advantageous.
