The Opportunity

A newly formed robotics division within one of the world's most ambitious ocean technology groups needs an engineering leader to build its technical backbone from day one, replacing a fragmented model with one unit owning every physical asset end to end.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Build and lead a multidisciplinary engineering function, hardware, systems and software, across a hundreds-of-millions-pound delivery portfolio spanning yards on three continents.
  • Set the engineering governance and operating model the business has never had.
  • Own technical capability behind live, high-profile autonomous missions in demanding maritime environments.
  • Build a growing engineering team and bench from the ground up, reporting into the division's top leadership.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What Success Looks Like

  • Genuine engineering credibility, forged in maritime, defence or another complex setting, someone who has built capability rather than inherited it.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: no playbook exists yet, and the judgement to add structure without slowing delivery.
  • The influence to bring senior stakeholders onto the same page without dictating from day one.
  • A track record spanning international delivery.

What Is on Offer

  • A newly created, board-visible leadership role at the heart of a rapidly scaling technology business.
  • The chance to build an engineering organisation from a blank page, with full executive backing.
  • Genuine influence over one of the largest autonomous maritime fleets in the world.
  • Long-term upside as the role grows.
