This position reports to the Senior Director, Digital Technology and is part of the Digital Team located in Cambridge, UK and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop and own the enterprise architecture strategy and reference architecture.
- Lead simplification and continuous Improvement efforts across the digital estate, including application rationalization, integration strategy, and technology consolidation.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to guide solution design and ensure alignment with architectural principles.
- Implement architecture governance frameworks, decision boards, and technical standards.
- Oversee technology lifecycle management, including cloud strategy, modernization, and decommissioning.
- Ensure architecture decisions support security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
The essential requirements of the job include
- BSc Degree in appropriate technical capability Computer Science, Information systems, or Engineering (MSc /MBA preferred)
- Extensive experience (10–15 years) in enterprise and solution architecture within complex environments.
- Demonstrated success in simplifying and modernizing large technology estates.
- Expertise in cloud-native architectures, API strategies, data platforms, and integration patterns.
- Direct Experience of working on Oracle Fusion stacks leveraging Mulesoft integrations connecting standard and/or bespoke built applications to deliver business critical services.

- Potential for occasional travel to one of Abcam’s global offices
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Background in global, multi‑country corporate organisations, with strong awareness of cross‑cultural norms and collaboration practices
