As part of an ongoing transformation programme, we have strengthened our leadership team, enhanced our operational focus and invested in key support functions across the business. We are now seeking a Group Director of Estates & Facilities Management to lead a critical function that supports our communities, colleagues and future growth.
This is a rare opportunity to join our Leadership Team and shape the strategy, performance and development of a national estate. Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Team, you will lead a national team, drive operational excellence and ensure our homes continue to reflect the premium standards for which Avery is well known.

About The Role
As our Director of Estates & Facilities Management, you will lead the management of Avery's estate, facilities and property services across a portfolio of more than 100 communities.
Leading a remotely based team, you will ensure our homes remain safe, compliant, well maintained and aligned to Avery's premium standards. You will work closely with our operational senior team to deliver a proactive estates strategy that supports outstanding resident experiences, operational performance and a well-maintained portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Avery's Estates & Facilities Management function, ensuring our portfolio remains safe, compliant and well maintained.
- Build and inspire a high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Partner with operational leaders to ensure estates and facilities services support business performance and exceptional resident experiences.
- Oversee compliance, health and safety, risk management and governance across the estate.
- Accountable for contractor and supplier performance, ensuring high-quality service delivery and value for money.
- Drive asset management, capital investment, maintenance planning and budget performance across the portfolio.
- Lead the continued development of digital estates systems, reporting and data-led decision-making.
- Provide strategic advice to the Executive Team on estate performance, investment priorities and future improvements.
About You
We're looking for an accomplished estates and facilities management leader with experience operating in a large, multi-site and highly regulated environment.
You Will
- Hold a degree in Facilities Management, Property Management, Building Services or a related discipline.
- Have significant senior leadership experience within estates, facilities or property management.
- Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, including responsibility for budgets, capital investment and asset planning.
- Have experience implementing and developing CAFM systems and digital estates solutions.
- Possess a strong understanding of compliance, health and safety, risk management and statutory requirements.
- Be an exceptional communicator who can build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel across the portfolio, including occasional overnight stays.

Desirable
- Experience within healthcare, care homes or another regulated environment.
- NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH membership or professional accreditation through IWFM, RICS or a similar body.

This Role Will Require
- Regular travel across the Avery portfolio, including overnight stays where required.
- A DBS Disclosure check, funded by Avery Healthcare.
