Role: Event Operations Director
Location: UK-based working from home with travel to events
Freelance or full-time role depending on candidate
We are seeking an experienced Event Operations Director to lead the planning and delivery of the UK's leading arable farming and horticulture events. Responsible for all operational aspects of the events, you will ensure the successful delivery of safe, effective, and commercially successful outdoor exhibitions that deliver exceptional experiences for exhibitors and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational planning and execution of two annual events including overseeing infrastructure, logistics, traffic management, security, exhibitor logistics, and customer care.
- Manage all event suppliers and contractors, ensuring contracts require high standards of delivery and value to organiser and exhibitors.
- Lead health, safety, risk management, licensing, and regulatory compliance in partnership with the local authorities and contractors.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, timelines, and procurement.
- Work closely with commercial, marketing, content, and finance team members to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Build strong relationships with host farmers, local authorities, exhibitors, and partners.
- Drive operational innovation, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement.
- Manage exhibitor customer care and exhibitor manual/ordering process.
- Increase exhibitor and visitor satisfaction via operational improvements.

- A highly organised and commercially minded event professional.
- Experience delivering large-scale outdoor exhibitions, agricultural events, festivals, or similar live events.
- Proven senior-level event operations experience.
- Demonstrable experience managing budgets and supplier contracts.
- Strong understanding of health and safety and event compliance requirements.
