Role Overview
Mackenzie Stuart are partnered with a PE-backed provider of validation, cleanroom, and compliance services supporting highly regulated industries. The business is undergoing significant growth and is seeking an experienced Field Operations Director to lead and scale its national operations function.
This role will be responsible for driving operational excellence, workforce planning, service delivery performance, and regional leadership effectiveness across a large field-based organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a national field operations function, ensuring consistent delivery of services across multiple regions
- Develop and implement a scalable operational structure aligned with business growth objectives
- Drive operational excellence, productivity, utilisation, and customer satisfaction metrics
- Oversee workforce planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and capacity management
- Lead and develop regional operational leaders, fostering a high-performance culture
- Manage operational budgets, KPIs, and performance reporting
- Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with senior leadership to support strategic growth initiatives and organisational development

Experience
- 10+ years' experience in operational leadership roles within field service, technical service, engineering, testing, compliance, or related industries
- Proven track record leading geographically dispersed teams through layers of management
- Experience scaling operations within a high-growth or private equity-backed environment
- Strong background in workforce planning, operational performance, and service delivery management
- Experience managing operational budgets and driving continuous improvement initiatives

- Strong leadership and people management capabilities
- Excellent operational planning and organisational skills
- Commercially astute with a data-driven approach to decision-making
