About the Role

Our Director of Finance is responsible for the leadership, management and performance of CMAC Group's Finance function, ensuring the business maintains robust financial controls, delivers accurate and insightful reporting, and provides high-quality financial support to operational and strategic decision making.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Finance department, leading a team of senior finance managers and ensuring finance operates as a proactive business partner across the organisation.

You will act as the primary contact for Group reporting activities, audits, finance-related projects and ComfortDelGro Group finance engagement, while providing leadership, support and challenge to the wider business. The role acts as a key deputy to the CFO, allowing strategic priorities to be escalated appropriately while maintaining strong ownership of finance operations, reporting and governance.

The role combines strategic leadership, technical financial expertise, operational oversight and commercial support, ensuring Finance continues to support CMAC's growth ambitions and long-term success.

  • The Finance function operates efficiently, effectively and supports the organisation's strategic objectives.
  • Month-end reporting is delivered accurately, on time and accompanied by meaningful financial insight and commentary.
  • Robust financial controls and governance frameworks are embedded throughout the organisation.
  • Financial audits are managed successfully with positive outcomes and minimal disruption.
  • Finance is recognised as a trusted business partner across the organisation.
  • Financial performance, risks and opportunities are clearly communicated to senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic projects receive effective financial leadership and support.
  • Cash flow, treasury, reporting and operational finance activities perform effectively.
  • Finance leaders are developed, supported and empowered to perform at a high level.

Core Responsibilities

Finance Leadership & Department Management

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Finance function across the Group.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the senior finance leadership team.
  • Ensure Finance resources, priorities and capabilities align with organisational objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Develop succession plans and leadership capability within the Finance function.
  • Ensure Finance remains scalable and capable of supporting future growth.

Financial Reporting & Business Insight

  • Oversee the production and delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate group consolidation and financial reporting across all entities.
  • Review management accounts, KPI reporting and financial performance analysis.
  • Develop a clear narrative and overall business commentary from financial reporting outputs.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Deliver financial analysis, modelling and reporting that supports strategic and operational decision making.
  • Provide insight into financial performance, risks and opportunities across the business.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting quality, consistency and effectiveness.

Financial Control, Governance & Compliance

  • Maintain a strong financial control environment across all Group entities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and corporate policies.
  • Oversee balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and financial governance processes.
  • Support taxation, statutory reporting and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ensure financial policies, controls and procedures remain appropriate and effective.
  • Promote best practice in financial governance and risk management.

Audit & External Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary contact for all external financial audit activity.
  • Manage audit planning, coordination and delivery across the Group.
  • Ensure audit actions and recommendations are addressed appropriately.
  • Maintain strong relationships with auditors, banking partners, advisers and external stakeholders.
  • Keep the CFO informed of audit progress, risks and material findings.
  • Support wider governance and assurance activities as required.

Strategic Projects & Business Transformation

  • Act as the primary Finance contact for major projects, business initiatives and change programmes.
  • Provide financial leadership and support for strategic projects across the organisation.
  • Ensure projects receive appropriate financial analysis, governance and challenge.
  • Support acquisitions, integrations, mobilisations and transformation activities where required.
  • Support organisational growth through effective financial partnership and insight.

Treasury, Operations & Performance Management

  • Oversee treasury, cash management and working capital performance through the appropriate finance leaders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency and financial performance.
  • Ensure financial operations support efficient and accurate business processes.
  • Monitor financial performance, risks and opportunities across the organisation.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
  • Provide challenge and support to improve profitability and financial performance.
  • Drive operational efficiency across financial processes and systems.

Leadership, Coaching & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead and support the Head of Financial Reporting, Head of FP&A/Commercial Finance, Cash & Treasury Manager and Financial Operations Manager.
  • Build strong relationships with Executive Leadership Team members and department leaders.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to operational and commercial stakeholders.
  • Support business leaders in developing financial understanding and commercial awareness.

Financial Control & Governance

  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration and operational excellence.
  • Ensure the Finance function remains capable of supporting the organisation's future growth ambitions.
  • Promote financial awareness and commercial understanding across the Group.
  • Serve as the primary finance liaison with ComfortDelGro Group finance teams.
  • Support the CFO on key initiatives and deputise where required.

About You

You are an accomplished finance leader with strong technical expertise, commercial awareness and a proven ability to lead high-performing finance teams within complex and fast paced organisations.

You are comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels, able to translate financial information into meaningful business insight and influence senior stakeholders effectively. You enjoy developing people, improving processes and ensuring Finance delivers genuine value to the wider organisation.

Your Expertise

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant leadership experience within senior finance roles.
  • Proven experience leading large finance teams and developing senior finance leaders.
  • Strong financial reporting, control and governance expertise.
  • Experience managing external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Strong commercial and operational finance capability.
  • Experience supporting strategic projects, transformation initiatives and business growth.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working with Executive Leadership Teams and Board-level stakeholders.
  • Strong treasury, cash management and financial planning experience.
  • Advanced financial modelling, analytical and reporting capability.
  • Experience within multi-entity, international or service-led organisations would be advantageous.
  • The role is subject to a DBS check and you may be required to travel across Europe as and when required.
