As our Director of Finance, you’ll be at the heart of the decisions that drive our strategy, investment and long-term financial resilience.
Leading our Group Finance and transaction teams, you’ll support strategic decision-making by turning complex financial information into clear insight, provide trusted challenge and make sure strong controls underpin everything we do. This is an exciting time to join us as we begin our next chapter under the leadership of our new CEO, Helen and CFO, Chris.
What you’ll do
- Shape our annual budget, forecasts and long-term financial plans, making sure resources are focused where they will have the greatest impact.
- Influence decisions at the highest level, giving our Executive Team and Board clear insight, sound advice and clear financial reporting to make informed decisions with confidence.
- Lead trusted, transparent reporting across the Group, including our financial statements, external audit, regulatory returns, subsidiaries and joint ventures.
- Supercharge the performance of Group Finance, Management Accounts, Accounts Payable, Income Management and Payroll. You’ll create the clarity, trust and culture that enable our talented teams to thrive.
- Strengthen our controls, systems and services, building relationships across Home Group so financial risks, opportunities and forecasts are understood early to enable effective planning.

You have
- Significant experience leading a large finance function in a complex organisation, covering budgeting, forecasting, financial controls and reporting.
- A professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent, backed by a strong technical accounting background.
- The ability to interpret complex financial information, apply commercial and operational context, and turn it into clear recommendations.
- Credibility and track record of influencing Executive teams, Board and senior leaders, inspiring confidence and providing constructive challenge to achieve great outcomes.
- A track record of building inclusive, high-performing teams by setting clear expectations, recognising success and supercharging performance.

The practical bits
- Hybrid working with two days per week from our office at One Strawberry Lane, Newcastle Upon Tyne and from home and across our national portfolio.
- You’ll work Monday to Friday. Our core hours are 9.00 am to 5.30 pm with flexibility built in.
- Car allowance included in your package.
- You need an Enhanced with barring list DBS check which we’ll pay for.
