Director of Corporate & Finance
Enterprise Oxfordshire | Oxfordshire | Up to £95,000
Four-day week | Predominantly remote | 12% pension
Enterprise Oxfordshire is looking for a Director of Corporate & Finance to lead a genuinely broad remit across finance, governance and Corporate Services.
It’s a small organisation of around thirty people, so this isn’t a traditional Finance Director role with a few extra responsibilities bolted on. You’ll sit alongside the Managing Director and wider leadership team, helping shape how the organisation operates, grows and evolves over the next few years.
Finance
Finance is a major part of the role. You’ll lead financial strategy, planning and sustainability, advise the MD and Board, and make sure significant public and grant funding is managed properly, delivers value for money and stands up to audit scrutiny.
Broader remit
But the remit goes much wider than finance.
You’ll also oversee governance, risk, compliance, procurement, contracts and wider Corporate Services, with responsibility for areas such as Company Secretarial work and broader organisational infrastructure.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
They need someone who is comfortable joining the dots across all of that.
Someone who can look at the organisation as a whole, not just the numbers.
You might currently be a CFO, Finance & Resources Director, Director of Corporate Services, Director of Finance & Operations or in another similarly broad leadership role.
Requirements
You’ll need a professional accountancy qualification — ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent — but just as important is the breadth of your leadership experience.
You’ll likely have worked in an organisation where governance, accountability and public or restricted funding really matter. That could be local or central government, a LEP or Growth Hub, education, housing, charity, healthcare or another publicly funded or regulated environment.
You’ll also need to be commercially minded and comfortable leading change. Enterprise Oxfordshire is entering an important period around funding, structure and longer-term sustainability, so they need someone who can help shape that rather than simply maintain what is already there.

This is a senior leadership role, but it’s also a lean organisation. You’ll need to be happy operating at Board level one minute and getting involved directly when something needs sorting the next.
It’s a genuine four-day week, paid for 37.5 hours while working 30, with most people taking either a Monday or Friday off. It’s predominantly home-based, with the team together in Oxford roughly once a week, usually a Wednesday, so you’ll need to live within a realistic commuting distance.
You’ll also get 23 days’ holiday on top of the four-day pattern, a 12% employer pension against a 4% minimum employee contribution, healthcare and flexitime.
It’s a fixed-term contract through to 2028, linked to the current funding cycle, with the potential to become permanent as the longer-term structure becomes clearer.
If your background sits across finance, governance and wider organisational leadership, and you like the idea of helping shape the future of a small but influential organisation, send over your CV and let’s talk.
