Director of FP&A

Location: London
Reference: HT16229

The Opportunity

Finatal is partnering with a PE-backed SaaS business who are looking to appoint a high-calibre Director of FP&A to join its finance leadership team during an important phase of continued growth and transformation.

This is a broad FP&A leadership role combining the core disciplines of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial planning with significant exposure to M&A, strategic analysis and functional business partnering.

The successful candidate will inherit a strong existing FP&A platform and team, while playing a key role in developing the broader partnering capability across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the core FP&A cycle across budgeting, forecasting, planning and monthly management reporting.
  • Own and continue to develop financial models and analytical outputs used to support senior leadership decision-making.
  • Partner closely with business and functional leaders across the firm’s increasingly business-unit-led operating model.
  • Provide financial business partnering across shared-service and functional cost areas, ensuring strong visibility and accountability around spend and performance.
  • Support the Corporate Development team across the M&A lifecycle, including financial diligence, transaction analysis and support around potential acquisitions.
  • Work closely with senior leadership as the firm continues to evolve its operating model and finance organisation.
  • Lead, coach and develop an international FP&A team consisting of three managers and approximately five analysts.
  • Maintain a high standard of financial discipline while identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting and decision support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
