An exciting opportunity for an experienced finance leader
To join as Director of Financial Reporting to oversee group financial reporting, technical accounting, financial control, and corporate services within a complex, multi-site organisation.

Our client is a large, multi-site organisation operating in a dynamic and evolving environment with its HQ in Glasgow. Backed by private equity investment, the business is experiencing strong growth and transformation, creating an opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader to shape reporting standards, strengthen controls, and support long-term strategic objectives.
Description
Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Financial Reporting will take responsibility for leading the group financial reporting function and ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial information across the organisation. This is a highly visible role with high exposure to the CEO and private equity investors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the preparation of annual reports, consolidated financial statements, and statutory accounts.
- Overseeing technical accounting matters, including IFRS compliance, acquisitions, disposals, impairment reviews, and other complex accounting judgements.
- Managing relationships with external auditors, tax advisers, and other key stakeholders.
- Owning the monthly financial close process and consolidated management reporting for board-level decision making.
- Ensuring robust financial controls, governance, and accounting policies are maintained across the group.
- Supporting business growth initiatives, acquisitions, restructurings, and strategic projects.
- Driving continuous improvement, process enhancement, and finance transformation activities.
- Leading, developing, and mentoring a sizeable finance reporting team, creating a high-performance culture.
- Providing technical and commercial finance support to senior leadership, board members, and shareholders.

Profile
The ideal candidate for the Director of Financial Reporting position will be a qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA or CIMA) with substantial post-qualified experience gained in a senior finance leadership role within a large, complex organisation. Experience working in a private equity-backed business environment is highly desirable.
You will also demonstrate:
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
- Experience leading complex external audits and managing compliance requirements.
- A proven ability to lead and motivate teams through periods of change.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced analytical capabilities and a solutions-focused mindset.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgement.
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
