Yookatale is a mobile food market that enables selling, buying, and advertising food products and services for homes and commercial clients in Uganda, Africa. Role Description

The Director of Fundraising is a contract role responsible for designing and leading YooKatale’s fundraising strategy to support growth and impact. This hybrid position is based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with flexibility for some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and cultivating relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners
  • Planning and executing annual giving campaigns

The role involves:

  • Creating fundraising plans and budgets
  • Monitoring performance against targets
  • Preparing regular reports for leadership

The Director of Fundraising will collaborate with senior leadership and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging, strengthen philanthropic engagement, and maintain compliant, transparent fundraising practices.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience engaging and stewarding Major Donors and high-value supporters
  • Strong Communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences
  • Knowledge of Philanthropy and the nonprofit or social impact sector, ideally within food systems, community development, or related fields
  • Proven track record in Annual Giving programs, campaigns, or multi-channel fundraising initiatives
  • Ability to lead Strategic Planning for fundraising, including setting objectives, forecasting, and evaluating outcomes
  • Experience building and managing donor pipelines, CRM tools, and fundraising databases
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret fundraising metrics and optimize strategies
  • Collaborative working style, comfortable operating in a hybrid, cross-cultural environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or similar) or equivalent professional experience
  • Commitment to YooKatale’s mission of making healthy food accessible and its values of customer focus, respect, authenticity, and resilience
