Our Team: How we enrich everyday life

Bauer Academy is Bauer Media’s industry-leading training and development business, helping organisations build workforce capability, develop future talent and create lasting organisational impact. You will be joining a team of around 50 colleagues across the UK, working closely with a Senior Leadership Team of five in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. While backed by the scale and stability of Bauer Media, Bauer Academy retains a growth-focused culture with the agility and influence of a developing business.

The Difference You Will Make

As Director of Growth & Partnerships, you will lead Bauer Academy’s consultancy and commercial function, helping organisations solve workforce skills, learning and organisational capability challenges. This is a unique opportunity to build on an established apprenticeship business while accelerating the growth of our learning solutions offering. With a strong pipeline already in place, you will have the autonomy to shape strategy, develop new revenue streams and create long-term client partnerships that deliver meaningful impact.

Why Join Bauer Academy?

You will be joining at a pivotal moment in our growth. Apprenticeships provide a successful and established foundation, while our learning solutions business is primed for expansion. This role offers the chance to combine commercial leadership, strategic partnership building and people development, all within a business that has the backing of Bauer Media and the agility of a growing organisation. As learning solutions continue to grow, you will have the opportunity to shape the function and develop the team supporting our future ambitions.

Your Role

  • Develop and deliver commercial strategies that drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Build and convert a strong pipeline of new opportunities and client partnerships.
  • Identify new market opportunities and growth areas.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on learning, workforce development and organisational capability.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Lead commercial activity across apprenticeships and learning solutions.
  • Manage and develop three direct reports.
  • Contribute as a member of the Bauer Academy Senior Leadership Team.
  • Build trusted, strategic client relationships focused on long-term outcomes rather than transactional sales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
