Client Details

Our client is a growing and ambitious organisation operating within the education sector, supporting multiple sites and serving a diverse community across the South of England. Having experienced significant expansion in recent years, they are now entering an exciting phase of strategic growth, with further development projects, new site openings, and organisational transformation initiatives planned for the coming years.

Description

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of HR & Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership across HR, estates, IT, and business operations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the delivery of the organisation's people, estates, and digital strategies.
  • Driving organisational growth projects, including onboarding new sites and supporting expansion initiatives.
  • Providing leadership to HR, IT, and operational teams, developing capability, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Overseeing estates and facilities management to ensure safe, compliant, and effective environments.
  • Leading organisational change and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory, governance, health & safety, and operational requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders, trustees, leaders, and external partners.
  • Contributing as a key member of the executive leadership team and helping shape long-term organisational strategy.

Profile

A successful Director of HR & Operations will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience leading operational functions at a strategic level.
  • Strong HR leadership experience, alongside exposure to estates, facilities, IT, or business operations.
  • A track record of delivering organisational growth, transformation, or large-scale projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at board and executive level.
  • Strong leadership capability, with experience developing high-performing teams.
  • Commercial acumen combined with a people-focused approach.
  • The confidence to operate autonomously and drive initiatives forward in a fast-moving environment.

Experience within education, public sector, or similarly regulated environments would be advantageous but is not essential.

Job Offer

  • Salary circa £80,000 - £90,000, dependant on experience.
