About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Human Resources, based within our UK business, to partner with the in-country leadership team and help shape and embed our enterprise-wide people strategy. This role is central to enabling business growth and delivering on our broader People Strategy agenda.
This strategic position reports directly to the Vice President of HR, Strategy & International with a dotted-line relationship to the Chief Executive Officer of Raytheon UK (landed company). As the Director of Human Resources, you will be a key member of the Raytheon UK (RUK) senior leadership team, playing a critical role in setting direction, driving leadership excellence, and fostering a high-performing, inclusive culture.
In this role, you will work across the full employee lifecycle—including Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Leadership Development, Organisational Design, and Organisational Effectiveness—while collaborating closely with our Centres of Expertise (COEs). Your work will help strengthen a shared culture and reinforce our expectations of inclusive behaviours across the business.

This onsite role will be in the United Kingdom based in either location Harlow (Essex) or Glenrothes (Scotland).

Supporting a UK-based defence business, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a people strategy that enables operational readiness, talent resilience, and organisational excellence.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to quickly understand strategic priorities, emerging opportunities, operational challenges, and external factors shaping the defence landscape.
- Strong capability in interpreting and analysing data to inform decision-making and influence senior stakeholders.
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-level talent strategies, including high-potential development, succession planning, assessment approaches, career pathways, and strategic talent mobility.
- Expertise in leading organisational change using structured methodologies, consulting frameworks, and tools to ensure effective planning, adoption, and sustainability.
- Robust project and programme management skills, ensuring initiatives are executed to scope, on time, and within budget.
- Exceptional coaching, advisory, and influencing skills, enabling effective partnership with senior leaders across a complex organisation.
- Confidence and sound judgement when constructively challenging senior stakeholders and addressing entrenched cultural norms or behaviours.
- Strong problem-solving capability, leveraging data and insights to build compelling business cases and recommendations for diverse audiences.
- Comprehensive understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice within regulated environments.
- Comfortable operating within a global matrix structure, including collaboration with U.S.-based functional leadership.
