Leading Global Law Firm | London

Opportunities to take on the most senior international finance position at one of the world's leading law firms are few and far between.

Lex Talent has been exclusively retained to recruit a Director of Finance for a top 10 global law firm.

If you're an experienced finance leader within the legal sector, this is an opportunity worth considering.

Based in London, you'll take responsibility for the finance operations of the firm's largest international office, home to approximately 500 employees, while also overseeing finance teams across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

You'll work closely with senior partners and London leadership, as well as the firm's global finance leadership in the US. You'll have significant autonomy, responsibility, and visibility across the firm's international operations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The remit is broad and goes well beyond financial reporting. You'll oversee client accounting, billing, WIP, collections, budgeting, financial reporting, treasury, tax, and regulatory compliance, alongside the continued development and improvement of the finance function.

Just as importantly, you'll lead and develop international finance teams, advise senior partners, influence commercial decision-making, and play an important role in how the firm's international finance operations evolve.

You don't need to be doing this exact job today.

You may currently be a Finance Director, Head of Finance, Financial Controller, or another senior finance professional within a law firm who is ready to take on a broader remit.
