Director, Investment, Risk & Operations Technology
Hybrid | London
Lead the technology platforms that sit at the heart of a major UK wealth and investment business.
We're seeking an experienced technology leader to own the strategy, delivery, and operational performance of investment, risk, and operations technology. Reporting to the CTO, you'll lead multiple product and engineering teams, shaping the platforms that support portfolio management, suitability, risk monitoring, market data, custody, settlement, and critical back-office functions.
This is a highly visible leadership role, balancing technology strategy, transformation delivery, operational resilience, and stakeholder engagement across executive and business leadership teams.
What you'll be doing
- Define and deliver technology strategy across investment, risk, and operational platforms
- Lead multiple technology squads covering product, engineering, architecture, and delivery
- Drive modernisation, transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure platforms support regulatory requirements, suitability controls, and client outcomes
- Own technology risk, service performance, governance, and operational resilience
- Manage relationships with senior business stakeholders, third-party partners, and executive committees
- Balance strategic change, regulatory commitments, and business-as-usual priorities
- Influence enterprise architecture, design standards, and technology roadmaps

What we're looking for
- Senior technology leadership experience within wealth management, asset management, investment management, or financial services
- Strong understanding of investment platforms, portfolio management, suitability, and risk technologies
- Experience developing and executing technology strategy at scale
- Proven track record leading large teams, complex change portfolios, and senior stakeholders
- Ability to challenge technical decisions while translating business and regulatory requirements into effective technology solutions
- Experience operating within regulated environments and managing technology governance, risk, and controls
