Director of IT & Data

Our client, a well-established provider of housing and community services, is looking for a Director of IT & Data to join their Senior Leadership Team. This is a senior, board-facing role, reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, leading a function of between 33-35 (2 direct reports) with budget responsibility of over £2.0m.

The role

  • Set and deliver the technology, data and performance strategy across the organisation
  • Own cyber security strategy, with regular audits and testing
  • Set the architecture roadmap and lead change/release management across IT services
  • Lead supplier relationships and negotiations for hardware and software
  • Ensure compliance with IT and data protection legislation
  • Deliver a company-wide data strategy, covering governance and data quality
  • Lead the Business Intelligence function and support adoption of the UK Housing Data Standard
  • Develop a performance management framework, including KPI tracking
  • Build a business intelligence and analysis framework to support strategy and forecasting
  • Drive continuous improvement methodology (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma) to improve productivity and cut costs
  • Coach and develop your team, building a culture of accountability and trust
  • Present to the Board and relevant committees on performance and major projects

What you'll need

  • Experience leading high-performing teams and managing IT, Data and Performance functions
  • Previous Director-level experience in a similar role
  • Degree level education, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Power BI and related reporting technology
  • ITIL or CoBIT certification (or equivalent)
  • PRINCE2 certification (or equivalent)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with confidence influencing senior stakeholders
