Protect what matters. Power what's next.
Thesis SM is looking for a Director of IT & Information Security to lead the charge in safeguarding our technology, data, and infrastructure while keeping a globally distributed team moving fast, securely, and without friction. This isn't a back-office IT role. You'll own the strategy, set the bar for security and compliance (including how we govern AI), and be the trusted voice that helps the business grow with confidence. If you love building resilient systems, solving hard risk problems, and leading with both technical depth and people skills, we want to talk.

Through our core SIS platform, supported by expert implementation and world-class support, we help institutions deliver more efficient, connected, and student-centric experiences. At our core, we’re a relationship-driven business. Collaboration shapes everything we do within our teams and with our customers. We succeed by working together to create meaningful, lasting impact in Higher Education.

- Evaluate AI-augmented threat detection and AIOps capabilities to improve security monitoring efficiency and IT operational reliability
- Report on AI risk posture to senior leadership and ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and emerging AI regulation across Thesis's operating jurisdictions
- Ensure compliance with applicable security and data privacy regulations, including GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC 2
- Conduct and oversee regular security risk assessments, audits, and penetration testing

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
