Description
Newham Community Law Project is recruiting a Director of Legal Services to join our newly established organisation as we launch our legal services in summer 2026.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape a community-based legal practice from the outset.
- Over the coming months we will be applying for Legal Aid contracts and to become a member of the Law Centres Network.
- We currently have one immigration solicitor and are recruiting a second solicitor and an operations manager.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing the team
- Supervising casework
- Ensuring compliance with SRA and Legal Aid Agency requirements
- Working closely with trustees on strategy, governance and service development

We are seeking a qualified solicitor with either significant housing or immigration experience, Legal Aid knowledge, and a strong commitment to social justice and access to justice.

East Ham (with some remote working)

35 hours per week
Salary
£52,269 – £55,353
