Director of Maintenance - CAA Part-145 Form 4 Post Holder
Arden White Aviation & Aerospace Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading aviation component maintenance organisation to recruit an experienced Director of Maintenance. This is a senior leadership opportunity within a well-established Part-145 maintenance organisation specialising in the overhaul, inspection and repair of aircraft components. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance and business performance while acting as the nominated CAA Part-145 Form 4 Post Holder for Production.

The Role
As Director of Maintenance, you will take overall responsibility for the production and operational performance of a CAA Part-145 approved maintenance facility. You will lead workshop operations, ensure full regulatory compliance, develop high-performing teams and deliver operational improvements across the business.
This role carries direct accountability for ensuring all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with Part-145 regulations, approved maintenance data and the organisation's Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the nominated CAA Part-145 Form 4 Post Holder for Production.
- Lead all maintenance, overhaul, inspection and testing activities within the Part-145 organisation.
- Ensure full compliance with UK CAA Part-145 regulations, the MOE and approved maintenance data.
- Maintain effective relationships with aviation regulatory authorities and support regulatory audits.
- Ensure corrective actions arising from internal and external audits are implemented effectively.
- Drive operational performance, productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage production planning, workshop capacity and resource allocation to achieve customer turnaround targets.
- Ensure the availability of personnel, tooling, equipment and materials required to support operations.
- Monitor operational KPIs including on-time delivery, productivity and efficiency.
- Promote a strong safety culture aligned with Safety Management System (SMS) principles.
- Work closely with Quality and Safety teams to maintain the highest compliance standards.
- Lead, mentor and develop operational teams, ensuring competency, training and succession planning are maintained.
- Support recruitment and workforce planning to meet future business demands.

About You
We're looking for an experienced aviation maintenance leader who can combine strong operational management with exceptional regulatory knowledge.
You'll Ideally Have
- Significant management experience within a CAA or EASA Part-145 approved maintenance organisation.
- Eligibility to hold the position of CAA Part-145 Form 4 Post Holder.
- Extensive experience managing aircraft component maintenance operations (wheel and brake experience would be advantageous but is not essential).
- Excellent knowledge of:
- CAA / EASA Part-145 Regulations
- Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE)
- Aircraft maintenance and certification processes
- Strong understanding of aviation quality systems, Safety Management Systems (SMS) and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing regulatory audits and working with aviation authorities.
- An engineering qualification or equivalent aviation technical experience.
- Proven leadership, organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
