Shape the brand narrative for one of the UK’s most ambitious destinations.
The Opportunity
MediaCity is where creativity, technology, and innovation converge. Home to world-leading broadcasters, production companies, content creators, technology businesses, and innovators, MediaCity sits at the heart of one of the fastest-growing sectors in the world. We are a globally connected creative and digital platform where talent, industry, and culture come together to create something truly unique.
Our production ecosystem includes:
- 10 high-specification TV studios
- 50+ post-production suites, both physical and virtual
- Advanced ADR and Dolby Atmos facilities
- A growing platform for future expansion across audio, music, gaming, creator-led content, and emerging production technologies
We are seeking an exceptional Director of Marketing and Communications to lead the strategic positioning and brand narrative of MediaCity ensuring that our story resonates with diverse audiences and supports our ambitious growth objectives.
Why This Role is Different
This is not a traditional marketing and communications leadership role. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will shape and deliver the brand vision and narrative for MediaCity, driving awareness and engagement across a unique ecosystem of real estate, production facilities, creative services, partnerships, events, destination experiences, and community initiatives.
This is a rare opportunity to shape and grow the MediaCity brand as one of Europe’s leading creative, media, and technology destinations. Bringing together world-class studios, post-production, music recording, creative services, and a vibrant business community, the role will define a compelling market position, build national influence, and create a brand platform with global reach.
What You'll Deliver
Create the Brand Strategy
- Define and implement a cohesive marketing and communications strategy that elevates the MediaCity brand, aligning with the vision and overarching business goals.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and identity across all platforms and touchpoints, supporting all marketing and campaign efforts.
Drive Integrated Campaigns
- Lead the planning and execution of impactful marketing campaigns across digital, traditional, and experiential channels, including those specifically designed to promote opportunities within emerging creative sectors (e.g., television, film, audio, digital content).
- Attract businesses, residents, visitors, and talent to both destinations, and drive engagement with new offerings in creative sectors through targeted campaigns.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure campaigns support specific commercial and community objectives.
Shape Content & Storytelling
- Champion compelling content creation that showcases MediaCity’s unique, globally significant offerings, successes, and community spirit, ensuring it resonates effectively with diverse target audiences.
- Direct the development of marketing collateral, digital assets, and editorial content across various global and local platforms, consistently supporting the overarching brand narrative and identity.
Build Strategic Partnerships
- Cultivate and maintain influential relationships with a diverse range of key stakeholders, including media, creative industries, technology, investment, public sector, culture, tenants, and the wider community.
- Act as a senior ambassador for MediaCity and Landsec in the North, representing them at industry events and forums.
Enhance Communications & PR
- Oversee all external and internal communications, including media relations and public relations.
- Manage stakeholder engagement and crisis communications to protect and enhance reputation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
