A senior brand and communications opportunity with a growing investment and property business
We're working exclusively with a privately owned investment and property business that is looking to appoint a Director of Marketing & Communications on a three-day-per-week basis.
This is a genuinely senior role with significant influence. Reporting directly to the Founder/CEO, you'll take ownership of the organisation's brand, reputation and communications strategy, helping to create a clear and credible identity across its investment, property and wider business interests.
This isn't a traditional marketing role and it isn't about managing a large internal marketing team. The focus is on brand leadership, corporate communications, reputation, senior stakeholder engagement and agency management, with specialist external partners supporting much of the execution.
It's an ideal opportunity for an experienced marketing and communications leader who enjoys operating at a strategic level, is comfortable working closely with founders and senior stakeholders, and wants the flexibility of a genuinely senior three-day role.
The Opportunity
You'll take ownership of the overall marketing and communications agenda, ensuring the organisation presents a consistent, credible and high-quality brand across all of its businesses and audiences.
-
A key focus will be developing the positioning of the investment arm, strengthening its profile within the healthcare, wellbeing and wider investment markets, and helping build relationships with founders, advisers and other key stakeholders.
-
You'll work closely with the Founder/CEO on corporate profile, thought leadership and strategic communications, while also overseeing the external agencies and specialists responsible for PR, digital, content, creative and web development.
-
You'll also have responsibility for ensuring the organisation's property and hospitality interests are represented consistently and effectively, working alongside existing specialist marketing resource where appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience within investment, private capital, professional services, property, hospitality, luxury or founder-led businesses would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
Why This Role?
This is a rare opportunity to take genuine ownership of a senior marketing and communications function without stepping into a traditional full-time corporate role.
You'll work directly with the Founder/CEO, have significant influence over the organisation's external profile and be trusted to shape how the business is positioned in the market.
It's a role for someone who enjoys being the strategic marketing voice in the room, rather than managing a large team or simply delivering a pre-existing marketing plan.
If you're looking for a senior, influential role that offers flexibility alongside genuine strategic responsibility, we'd love to hear from you.
Please note due to high volumes of applications unfortunately we are not always able to respond to all unsuccessful applicants. However we wish everyone who applies the very best with their job search.
