Mode Search is supporting a leading international luxury fashion brand with the appointment of a Director of Marketing, EMEA. This is a senior regional leadership position responsible for shaping and delivering the marketing and CRM strategy across EMEA, translating global brand direction into locally relevant initiatives that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and commercial performance. The role will oversee an integrated marketing agenda spanning CRM, partnerships, events, media, digital, and offline activity across a diverse network of directly operated retail, wholesale, franchise, and joint-venture markets.

The position is based in London and will operate across the EMEA region, working closely with global and regional teams as well as key external partners. The successful candidate will lead the regional marketing function and collaborate extensively with PR, CRM, retail, wholesale, franchise, and JV stakeholders. The role reports to the President.

The Role

  • Define and lead the regional marketing strategy, developing market-specific plans that support both brand positioning and commercial objectives.
  • Translate global marketing direction into effective regional and local initiatives, adapting activity to reflect individual market requirements, customer behaviors, and cultural nuances.
  • Lead marketing activity across multiple distribution models, including directly operated retail, wholesale, franchise, and joint-venture businesses.
  • Own the regional marketing budget, setting investment priorities, managing allocation, and ensuring expenditure delivers against agreed objectives.
  • Oversee the development and execution of the regional CRM strategy, working closely with the CRM team to use customer insights and data to inform acquisition, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships that strengthen brand positioning, expand reach, and support new customer acquisition.
  • Lead the strategy for regional events, experiences, and activations, ensuring they deliver meaningful brand and commercial impact.
  • Oversee regional media planning and ensure investment is aligned with wider marketing priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with influential industry stakeholders, strategic partners, department stores, wholesale accounts, franchisees, and joint-venture partners.
  • Partner closely with wholesale accounts to ensure strong alignment around the regional marketing strategy and maximize brand visibility within their businesses.
  • Work with franchise and joint-venture PR and marketing teams to translate the wider communications strategy effectively into local markets and build brand awareness.
  • Collaborate closely with regional PR teams to ensure marketing and communications activity is integrated and mutually reinforcing.
  • Maintain consistency of brand positioning and image across marketing campaigns, communications, promotional materials, partnerships, and events.
  • Monitor regional marketing performance against agreed objectives and budgets, identifying opportunities to optimize activity and taking corrective action where required.
  • Track competitor activity, market developments, and relevant consumer trends to inform future strategy and identify opportunities for the business.
  • Lead the preparation of regional marketing reporting, providing clear analysis, recommendations, and updates to senior and executive leadership.
  • Provide visible leadership to the marketing team, setting clear priorities and creating an environment that encourages high performance, collaboration, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Significant senior-level marketing experience gained within the luxury fashion sector, with a strong understanding of both brand-building and commercially focused marketing.
  • Proven experience developing and delivering sophisticated regional marketing strategies across multiple countries and markets.
  • Strong international outlook, with the ability to understand cultural and commercial differences and adapt marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Demonstrable experience managing substantial marketing budgets, determining investment priorities, and delivering activity within agreed financial parameters.
  • Strong understanding of CRM, customer data, and database marketing, with the ability to contribute strategically to the evolution of CRM programs.
  • A strong appreciation of retail strategy and the relationship between marketing, brand positioning, and commercial performance.
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder environments and working effectively across multiple internal functions and external partnerships.
  • Strong project management capability, with the ability to lead several complex initiatives simultaneously and deliver to demanding timelines.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the credibility to operate effectively at senior and executive levels.
  • Commercially astute, analytical, and solutions-focused, combining strategic thinking with strong attention to detail.
  • Creative and imaginative, with a strong understanding of the luxury consumer and the wider fashion and luxury landscape.
  • Highly organized and able to respond quickly and effectively to changing business priorities while remaining composed under pressure.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and the wider Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms would be advantageous.
  • Additional European language skills would be advantageous.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
  • The presence and communication skills to represent a leading luxury brand credibly across the region and articulate its vision in a way that engages both internal teams and external partners.
