Director of Marketing Technology – CRM, CDP & Customer Engagement

Location: London / Hybrid

Type: Permanent

Level: Director

We are working with a leading UK data, customer experience and marketing technology consultancy looking to appoint a Director of Marketing Technology into a senior leadership position within its growing MarTech practice.

This is a highly client-facing and commercially focused role, working closely with senior practice leadership to shape, position and win complex CRM and MarTech transformation programmes for major enterprise clients.

A significant part of the role will focus on pre-sales, solution consulting and proposition development – understanding a client's customer, data and technology challenges and translating them into compelling, commercially viable solutions.

This is not a purely sales role, however. You will remain close to delivery, providing senior oversight and guidance across selected CRM, CDP, customer engagement and analytics implementation programmes.

The Role

You will operate as a senior MarTech subject-matter expert, working across new and existing clients to identify opportunities, shape solutions and support the continued growth of the practice.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading MarTech and CRM pre-sales engagements, from initial discovery and requirements gathering through solution definition, proposal, pitch and close
  • Working with senior client stakeholders to understand their customer engagement, data and technology challenges
  • Shaping complex CRM, CDP, customer engagement, personalisation and MarTech transformation programmes
  • Developing solution roadmaps, propositions, statements of work and commercial proposals
  • Leading senior client conversations around CRM, lifecycle marketing, customer engagement, personalisation, customer data and marketing technology
  • Shaping solutions involving platforms such as Adobe Experience Cloud, Braze, Bloomreach and leading CDP technologies
  • Identifying opportunities to expand existing client relationships and develop new consulting engagements
  • Working closely with strategists, architects, analysts, developers and delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are both commercially viable and technically deliverable
  • Providing senior oversight across selected MarTech, CRM, CDP and analytics implementation projects
  • Supporting the development and evolution of the consultancy's MarTech propositions, partnerships and go-to-market capabilities
  • Acting as a senior trusted adviser to marketing, CRM, data and technology leaders

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Platform & Solution Focus

You will work across a broad enterprise MarTech landscape, including:

  • Adobe Experience Cloud, including Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), Adobe Campaign and Adobe Analytics

  • Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) and customer data architecture
  • CRM and customer engagement platforms
  • Marketing automation and journey orchestration
  • Personalisation and experimentation
  • Digital and customer analytics
  • Customer data, segmentation and activation

You do not need to be a hands-on specialist across every platform. The role requires sufficient technical breadth and depth to understand complex MarTech ecosystems, challenge proposed solutions and confidently lead conversations with both business and technical stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an established MarTech consulting leader who combines strong technology knowledge with excellent commercial, consulting and client-facing skills.

You are likely to have:

  • Significant experience within a consultancy, agency, systems integrator or professional services environment

  • The ability to engage credibly with C-suite and senior marketing, CRM, data and technology stakeholders
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify, develop and convert consulting opportunities
  • The ability to bridge the gap between business strategy, customer experience, data and technology
  • Experience providing senior leadership or oversight across consulting and implementation engagements

You do not need to be a hands-on developer or solution architect. The priority is someone who understands enterprise MarTech deeply enough to lead discovery, challenge requirements, shape the solution, build the proposition and ultimately help win the work.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to take a highly influential position within an established and growing MarTech consultancy, working directly alongside senior practice leadership.

You will play a major role in determining what the consultancy takes to market, how major client solutions are shaped and how new CRM and MarTech opportunities are won.

The position offers an unusual combination of commercial leadership, strategic consulting, technology and delivery influence, with significant scope to help develop the future direction of the MarTech practice.

It could particularly suit someone currently operating as a Director of MarTech, MarTech Consulting Director, Associate Director, Principal Consultant, Solutions Director, Client Partner or MarTech Practice Lead who wants to step into a broader and more influential leadership position.
