Director of Membership

Hybrid | London – 2 days a week
£85,000–£90,000 + Excellent Benefits

We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading UK professional membership organisation seeking an experienced Director of Membership to drive membership growth, strengthen member engagement, develop strategic partnerships and lead high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organisation’s membership growth and engagement strategy.
  • Drive sustainable revenue growth across membership, partnerships, training and related services.
  • Develop and enhance compelling member value propositions.
  • Identify new opportunities to grow membership, engagement and income.
  • Lead, inspire and develop multidisciplinary teams.
  • Use member insight, CRM and data to improve acquisition, engagement, retention and cross-selling.
  • Oversee membership performance, pricing and associated commercial outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with members, stakeholders and strategic partners.
  • Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to shape the organisation’s future strategy.

We’re Looking for Someone With

  • Senior leadership experience within membership, commercial or business development functions.
  • A strong track record of driving membership growth, engagement and retention.
  • Experience within a membership organisation, professional body, trade association or B2B environment.
  • Strong experience in partnerships, business development and revenue generation.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness, strategic thinking and financial acumen.
  • A data-led approach to understanding member needs and improving performance.
  • A collaborative leadership style with experience of managing, motivating and developing teams.
