Director of Membership and Engagement
With more than 26,000 fellows and members, the Royal College of Anaesthetists is the UK's third largest medical royal college and the professional body for the NHS's largest hospital specialty. Newly settled in our Jubilee House headquarters and developing a new corporate strategy, the College is entering a pivotal phase in its history, as we look for our new Director of Membership and Engagement.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Chief Executive and joining the Executive Team, you will lead the College's membership, member services, engagement, marketing and communications functions. You will build a compelling, differentiated proposition grounded in a clear understanding of members' needs at every career stage, improve their experience, and ensure their insight shapes the College's priorities and decisions. You will also grow the reach and income of the College's products, content and events, launch an international member acquisition programme, and deliver a new strategy for its many thousands of volunteers.

Key Requirements
We are looking for a senior strategic and inspiring leader with a proven record of improving member satisfaction, engagement, retention and value in a membership or professional body, and of delivering income targets across a portfolio of products, services or events. You use segmentation, data and insight to drive engagement and growth, and understand communications, brand and reputation well enough to lead specialist teams. Collaborative and credible, you build strong relationships with trustees, elected members and senior colleagues, and lead change that delivers measurable results.
