Director of Operations | Hybrid Remote / Fitzrovia, London | Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

We make bags and accessories for the people building the future. Engineers, founders, designers, makers. Fifteen years in. Fourteen times bigger in the last five. B Corp certified. Wirecutter's pick for best laptop backpack.

Reporting to our COO, you run the operations function end to end. You own the decisions and relationships that keep product moving and available across every channel we sell through, and that protect what it costs us to get there. You own the team that delivers it, and the numbers behind it.

This is a broad role. We run an omnichannel business, and operations touches all of it: freight and logistics, inventory planning and buys, ecommerce and marketplace fulfilment including Amazon FBA, wholesale, and international distribution. We are looking for someone comfortable owning a spectrum of workstreams at once, and comfortable being the person accountable for them.

We expect operations to be built with AI at its core. We want someone who simplifies by instinct, and who has actually scaled a business.

If you take pride in working for a purpose-led brand and you want to be part of something that's growing, we'd love to talk.

What You'll Do

  • Own demand forecasting: the judgement on top of our forecasting product, and the buys and inventory commitments we make against our weeks-of-cover caps. Our CFO owns delivery of the financial plan; you own the calls that feed it.
  • Own service levels across every channel: dispatch, 3PL performance, Amazon in-stock, and wholesale on-time-in-full.
  • Own our vendor contracts and relationships at the top: 3PL and Flexport terms, factory commercial terms, and our key logistics partner relationship including the quarterly business review.
  • Own the ops org including hiring and banding. Lead the team, and raise the people around you as you go.
  • Maintain the AI agents you use every day, and keep building the systems and reporting that let a small team run a much bigger business.
  • Run the operating cadence: the monthly operating review and the weekly ops reviews. Execute discount and end-of-life decisions within the CFO's markdown budget.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who You Are

  • Five or more years of operational experience across a physical goods, omnichannel business. You have worked across several of: freight and logistics, inventory planning, ecommerce, marketplaces including Amazon FBA, wholesale and international distribution.
  • You have run inventory planning at a DTC omnichannel brand somewhere in the $5M to $40M range, and you have owned the buys, not just the model. You know how a business like ours actually works, and how to make it work better.
  • You have led a team, hired for it, and held the standard. You turn strategy into delivery, and you move from the plan to the detail without dropping either.
  • At home in a commercial negotiation. You've owned the terms with 3PLs, freight partners and factories, not just the relationship.
  • AI-first by instinct. You are always looking for how to work smarter with less, and you have done it, not just talked about it.
  • Based in or able to work from London, close to our Fitzrovia HQ.

We're a small team. Curious. Hands-on. We care about doing things well, and about the people doing them. High standards without high drama. We disagree out loud. We back each other up. The people who thrive here treat the work seriously and themselves a little less so.

Our headquarters is in Fitzrovia, London, and our store is on Beak Street in Soho. The rest of the team works remotely, and we get together whenever we can. We look after our people properly. The basics and more.
