Director of Operations – Sheffield - Photonics/Fabless Semiconductor
A successful and growing photonics Semiconductor company based in Sheffield is seeking a Director of Operations to join and both lead and scale their end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain operations. You'll be driving the transition of their cutting-edge technology to high-volume production and play a pivotal role in the next stage of the company.
What you'll do as the Director of Operations:
- Lead global supply chain, foundry, and OSAT partner relationships
- Oversee wafer starts, assembly, test, and delivery schedules
- Drive capacity planning, forecasting, and production scaling
- Own S&OP processes and align supply with demand
- Lead operational readiness for new product introductions (NPI)
- Build and scale high-performing operations, logistics, and supply chain teams
- Monitor KPIs and drive improvements in yield, cost, and delivery performance
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and ensure compliance

What you'll bring as the Director of Operations:
- Expertise and prior experience in semiconductor operations or supply chain
- Strong background in fabless semiconductor environments
- Deep understanding of foundry and OSAT ecosystems
- Experience scaling from NPI to high-volume production
- Strong leadership and team-building capability
- Data-driven mindset with strong commercial awareness
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
