Role Description
The Director of Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational activities, ensuring that processes, systems, and workflows support the delivery and scaling of Merlin’s discovery platform. The Director of Operations will manage cross-functional teams, set performance metrics, and optimize resource allocation to meet client and organizational objectives.

- Developing and refining operational policies
- Managing budgets and forecasts
- Coordinating with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams
- Implementing data-driven improvements to drive efficiency and quality
- Establishing strong operational controls
- Maintaining compliance with relevant standards
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Strong operations management skills, including experience designing and improving processes, workflows, and systems in a technology or professional services environment.
- Advanced analytical skills to interpret operational data, identify trends, build KPIs, and make evidence-based decisions that enhance efficiency and quality.
- Proven team management experience, including leading diverse teams, developing talent, and driving accountability across multiple functions.
- Demonstrated budgeting and financial management skills, with the ability to plan, monitor, and optimize operational costs and resources.
- Customer service orientation, with experience building and sustaining relationships and ensuring high-quality delivery for enterprise or professional clients.
- Relevant leadership experience in operations, preferably in SaaS, legal technology, AI-driven platforms, or related sectors.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications in operations or project management are beneficial.
