Operations Director – Extraction/Ventilation

£70,000–£90,000 Basic Salary + Executive Benefits
Central Scotland

A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Director to work alongside an outgoing Managing Director before taking the lead of a well-established engineering contractor.

For over 50 years, the business has designed, manufactured and installed specialist industrial ventilation and extraction systems, delivering technically complex engineering projects across the UK.

With an experienced team, an outstanding reputation and a loyal customer base, this is an opportunity to lead a successful business through its next phase of growth.

The Role

Working alongside the Managing Director during a structured handover, you'll assume responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the business before taking full operational ownership.

  • Leading a team of approximately 20 across manufacturing, CAD, project delivery, installation and administration, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service.
  • Oversee the complete project lifecycle—from enquiry and technical design through manufacture, installation and final handover—working closely with customers, consultants and contractors to deliver technically demanding engineering projects.
  • Play a key role in driving operational performance, developing your team, strengthening customer relationships and identifying opportunities to support the continued growth of the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
