Christian Jobs are managing the recruitment of this role on behalf of All Souls Church

Are you an experienced operational leader with a mature, active Christian faith? Are you a relational leader, skilled at guiding and growing people? Are you looking for a senior role where you can genuinely shape how a large, historic church is run? If so, this role could be for you.

Job Title: Director Of Operations

Salary: £56,000-£60,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications

Location: Based in All Souls’ Offices and buildings belonging to All Souls.

Hours: 35 hours/week, frequent evenings and weekends

Working Arrangement: Hybrid with 1 day working from home each week.

Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays


About All Souls

All Souls, Langham Place is a conservative Anglican evangelical church in the heart of London's West End, with a large, diverse and international congregation of around 60 nationalities. Founded in 1824 and shaped by rectors including John Stott, the church marked 200 years of gospel ministry on Regent Street in 2024. All Souls comprises three linked charities, the parish church, All Souls Serve the City, and St Paul's Trust.

About the Role

As a senior appointment reporting to the Rector, you'll direct and coordinate All Souls' internal structure and operational support. You will lead an Operations team of around 29 staff, with direct line management of 5 reports across six departments. Your responsibilities include:

  • Strategic leadership of the Operations Team, working closely with the Rector and Head of People & Culture
  • Financial stewardship, including budgeting, controls and major fundraising
  • Oversight of the church's property portfolio and capital projects
  • Supporting governance across all three charities, including as ASSTC Company Secretary
  • Leading technology, communications and data protection compliance
  • Enabling ministry delivery through effective operational infrastructure
  • Strategic oversight of All Souls Music and Sunday ministry
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the church family
  • Leading integrated risk management across the three charities
