Business Unit Director – Power T&D - £130k+

A major UK critical infrastructure contractor, turnover in the hundreds of millions and growing fast, is looking for an entrepreneurial Business Unit Director to build a brand new South East operation from the ground up.

This is a genuine build role. You'll have full P&L accountability from day one, with a clear mandate to win contract work across DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs and private networks, establish the brand in the region, and grow it into a standalone division with a multi-million-pound turnover target within 3 to 5 years.

What you'll be doing:

  • Winning substation and T&D contract work across DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs and private networks in the South East
  • Building a clear business plan with tangible Year 1, 3 and 5 targets
  • Establishing key strategic partnerships in the region
  • Building the brand and pipeline from scratch
  • Recruiting and growing a team once turnover and profit are established
  • Owning the division's P&L in full

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
