About the Opportunity

FM Talent Partners is exclusively supporting a leading UK facilities management provider in the search for an exceptional National Operations Director. This is a high-profile executive leadership role responsible for overseeing a large-scale national portfolio of soft services contracts across the UK. The successful individual will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, client retention, commercial performance, and strategic growth across multiple sectors. Similar leadership experience in soft services FM portfolios, P&L ownership, national contract delivery, and multi-site operations appears frequently in senior FM leadership profiles within your FM Talent Partners files.

  • Lead a national portfolio of soft services contracts including cleaning, security, grounds maintenance, waste, and associated FM services.
  • Drive operational performance across multiple regions, ensuring delivery against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Provide strategic leadership to Regional Directors, Operations Managers, and Area Management teams.
  • Own and manage significant P&L responsibility.
  • Build and maintain executive-level client relationships.
  • Support contract retention, mobilisation, and growth initiatives.
  • Develop high-performing operational teams through coaching, succession planning, and leadership development.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking an accomplished FM leader with:

  • Significant experience within the Facilities Management sector.
  • A strong background in Soft Services FM.
  • Experience leading large multi-site, multi-region operations.
  • Proven P&L responsibility for substantial contract portfolios.
  • Strong commercial acumen and client relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing senior operational leadership teams.
  • Demonstrable success in improving profitability, service delivery, and client retention.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
