A genuine Operations Director role at a founder-led UK private cloud MSP - reporting directly to the Directors, owning the full execution layer, and trusted to run the business day to day.

If you have a service provider background and can hold your own technically as well as lead a team, this is worth a proper read.

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established UK private cloud managed service provider with over 13 years of trading history, serving some of the country's largest software companies across legal, government, finance, and education. They are a small, high-retention team growing at double-digit pace. The business has reached the point where the founders are ready to step back from the day-to-day, and they are hiring an Operations Director to take full operational ownership. This is a new role, created by growth.

What You'll Be Doing as an Operations Director

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Leading and developing a small TechOps and professional services team: one-to-ones, KPIs, mentoring, and genuine performance management done properly for the first time
  • Owning ISO audit governance across a mature multi-standard portfolio (ISO 27001, ISO 9001, CSA STAR, ISO 27017), coordinating with the internal business analyst and external auditing consultant
  • Driving technical pre-sales alongside a non-technical Sales Director, acting as the architecture voice on client calls when it matters
  • Overseeing professional services delivery and customer success, including service review outcomes, follow-up actions, and feeding sales intelligence back to the commercial team
  • Managing service desk quality, capacity planning, and operational KPIs across technical and delivery teams
  • Acting as the senior point of presence in the office, representing the founders when they are focused on business development

What We're Looking For From The Operations Director

  • ISO governance experience, with ISO 27001 as a minimum
  • Professional services or managed services delivery experience
