The role
You own both sides of the market. On the capacity side, you take our carrier panel from informal engagement to official, papered relationships — signed permissions, working processes, and a path to delegated authority — and you make sure the platform genuinely works for them: reviewing the risks flowing through, keeping submission quality high, and building the relationships that make carriers quote quicker and better. On the distribution side, you support broker onboarding and grow the network: new firms, new teams inside existing firms, and the education and advisory presence that turns platform access into deal flow.
Deals should be automated — but they are not always, and as volume scales from one a month to ten to hundreds, there will be constant helping, fixing, and juggling on both sides. You are the person who keeps the marketplace moving, and who turns every point of friction into structured feedback so the platform gets better every week.
This is a tech-first role. You will live inside the platform every day and reach for AI/LLM tooling as your default way of working — and you will help shape what gets built next. If you are not genuinely excited about working in a tech-forward environment, this is not the role.
Reports to the CEO, working daily with the Head of Data & Modelling (technical sign-off on structures), the CTO, and the commercial team. No direct reports initially — you build the function, then the team beneath it as volume justifies. You will run the bulk of your work unmanaged, take leadership on market calls alongside the CEO, and bring problems solved, not raised.
What you'll own
Carrier signing & relationships · the first priority
Take EHAB's capacity side from engaged to official. Drive each carrier through the journey from informal submissions → signed permissions and agreements → delegated authority, and own the day-to-day relationships with the twelve-plus carriers already in the system. The more carriers formally writing, and the higher up the authority ladder they sit, the faster the machine scales.
Risk review & submission quality
Review the risks flowing through the platform before they reach carriers: sense-check structures, triggers, and backtests (with technical sign-off from our Head of Data & Modelling), and hold the quality line that makes carriers trust what arrives in their inbox. Standardised, high-quality submissions are the product carriers are buying — you are its guarantor.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Making the process work for carriers
Sit inside each carrier's workflow and make quoting on WeatherWise the easiest business they see: fast Q&A turnaround, clean data packs, feedback loops on what they decline and why. Where the process snags, you fix it and feed the fix into product so it never snags the same way twice.
Broker onboarding & network growth
Support new brokers — and new teams inside firms already on the panel — from first login to first live deal. Run demos, training, and webinars; be the parametric expert brokers put on calls with their clients; and grow the network firm by firm. The measure is brokers activated and deals flowing from them.
Marketplace flow — juggling, fixing, unsticking
Watch the live pipeline across both sides, spot what is stuck and why, and get it moving — chasing a quote, reworking a structure that is not landing, smoothing a papering blocker. As volume scales, you are the human layer that keeps momentum and quality up simultaneously, while feeding structured intelligence back to the tech team so the platform automates away your busiest work.
What success looks like
By 30 days
- Carrier panel fully mapped, owned, and stage-graded — every carrier has a clear next step toward official status
- Operational handover of our anchor capacity relationship complete; you are the day-to-day contact
- Fluent on the platform end-to-end and known by name to our active brokers
By 90 days
- Signed agreements in place or in final form with the priority carriers; delegated authority route agreed with at least one
- Risk review running as a standard quality gate on every submission, without slowing deals down
- New-broker onboarding a repeatable playbook you run without founder involvement; first webinars hosted
- Structured feedback loop to the tech team running weekly, with fixes shipping from it
- Deals bound that would have stalled without you — and both carriers and brokers know it
Who you are
Must-have
- Senior insurance market experience — London market broking, MGA/insurtech leadership, underwriting, or specialty distribution — with the credibility to sit opposite carrier decision-makers and be taken seriously from the first meeting
- Comfortable on both sides of the market: you understand what carriers need to say yes, and what brokers need to sell with confidence
- Hands-on with market mechanics — binders, permissions, coverholder pathways, submission and quote-bind flow, the AR/MGA structure
- Enough technical fluency to review and defend parametric structures — triggers, backtests, basis risk — without needing to build the models yourself
- A natural communicator and relationship-builder — energised by calls, demos, webinars, and being the expert people turn to
- Organised chaos-handler — comfortable juggling many live threads across carriers and brokers, switching context fast, keeping quality up under volume
- Genuinely tech-first — you reach for AI/LLM tools as a default, are fluent in Excel, and pick up new platforms and dashboards fast
- Self-starter with builder's instinct — you build the function rather than inherit a playbook, and bring problems to the CEO solved, not for solving
- Right to work in the UK

Why this role
- A genuine director-level build — own both sides of a live marketplace, and build the broking function of a category-defining platform from the ground up.
- Category-creating space — parametric weather risk is category-creating territory, and EHAB is the infrastructure layer, not another product. You become one of the market's recognised voices in it.
- Zero bureaucracy, real trajectory — direct line to the CEO and the technical founders. No layers, fast decisions, real ownership from day one, and the team beneath you as volume grows.
- Built for how people actually want to work — 4-day work week, remote-first with high flexibility, equity, and in-person time in London for team days, market events, and Lloyd's.
