The role is for ensuring we attract, develop, engage and retain the talent needed to support our ambitious growth plans while maintaining our values-driven culture.
About The Role
As Director of People & Education, you will lead the function, providing strategic direction across workforce planning, organisational development, learning and education, employee engagement, talent management, reward, resourcing and employee relations. The Director of People and Education will manage Resourcing, Learning & Talent, People Business Partner team and Clinical Education.
Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you'll act as a trusted advisor, influencing business strategy and ensuring our people agenda supports both operational excellence and long-term organisational success.
This is both a strategic and hands-on role, requiring someone who can lead and deliver the people agenda, while also staying close to operational detail and supporting the business with practical, solutions-focused leadership.

The Successful Candidate Will
- Develop and deliver CHEC's People & Education strategy.
- Lead workforce planning to support organisational growth and service expansion.
- Drive organisational development, succession planning and leadership capability.
- Build a high-performance, inclusive and values-led culture.
- Provide expert advice on complex people, organisational and employment matters.
- Lead major change initiatives, including acquisitions, restructures and transformation programmes.
- Oversee talent attraction, resourcing and employer branding strategies.
- Develop reward, recognition and employee engagement programmes that improve retention and colleague experience.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing People and Education team.
About You
We're looking for an experienced People leader who combines strategic thinking with a pragmatic and collaborative approach.
Essential
You'll bring:
- Chartered MCIPD/FCIPD (Level 7) or equivalent.
- Significant senior leadership experience within HR, People, Talent or Organisational Development.
- Proven success developing and delivering people strategies aligned to business growth.
- Experience leading organisational change, transformation or acquisitions.
- Strong workforce planning, talent management and succession planning expertise.
- Extensive knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Outstanding stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
