My client, a leading hedge fund, is seeking a Director of Platform Engineering to join their London team.
The successful individual will be responsible for designing, building, and operating their Azure platform from the ground up, including landing zones, identity, networking, governance, and hybrid connectivity.
You will work directly with the CTO and the internal infrastructure team to define how cloud is used across the firm, establishing practical platform standards and reusable patterns. This is a rare opportunity to build and shape a modern, scalable cloud platform in a financial environment while supporting engineering and data-science teams moving critical workloads onto the platform.
You should have strong hands-on experience designing and running Azure infrastructure at scale, with deep expertise in identity and access management, hybrid networking, and infrastructure as code. You'll need a strong security mindset, practical experience with cloud governance and compliance automation, and the ability to document standards clearly and help teams adopt them effectively.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
