An exceptional opportunity has arisen to lead one of the most ambitious procurement transformation programmes in the NHS.

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Procurement Director to lead the One Dorset Procurement Service (ODPS), a shared procurement and supply chain service serving Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust, and University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust as part of the Dorset Integrated Care System.

As Procurement Director, you will provide strategic leadership for all procurement and supply chain activity across the partnership, ensuring the delivery of value for money, commercial excellence, sustainability, and innovation. You will act as the recognised procurement and commercial expert, working closely with Chief Finance Officers, Executive Directors, clinicians, and system partners to deliver outstanding outcomes for our organisations and the communities we serve.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of procurement across Dorset, leading a high-performing service through its next phase of development and embedding a single, integrated approach across our provider organisations.

The Procurement Director will provide strategic and operational leadership to the One Dorset Procurement Service, leading a team of approximately 60 staff and ensuring the successful delivery of procurement, supply chain, and commercial services across the partnership.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
