Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director of Product, the Director of Product, AI Growth grows 1Password's new business in artificial intelligence. In this role, you own driving growth for our AI opportunities by identifying which customers we target, which outcomes we win on, and proving it with design customers. You scale growth through our go-to-market organization and through partnerships with the agent ecosystem and channel partners.

How We’re Using AI Today

Our Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the growth thesis for 1Password's AI opportunities, covering the customer segments we target, the outcomes we deliver that we win on, and the workflows we get embedded into.
  • Form and test hypotheses using customer feedback, product usage data, partner input, and market research gathered with the go-to-market, product, user experience, and product marketing teams.
  • Lead a weekly business review that brings the voice of the customer, field feedback, and product usage telemetry into one view, so the team can refine targets, forecast the roadmap's impact on growth, and prioritize the blockers that hold adoption back.
  • Identify what stops customers from adopting, and drive each blocker to a resolution with the product team that owns it.
  • Run the design customer program for new artificial intelligence opportunities, from selecting customers through to delivered outcomes.
  • Act as the general contractor for each design customer: the single person accountable for getting that customer deployed on 1Password for their agentic access, and for delivering the security and convenience outcomes they came for.
  • Coordinate every team the deployment touches, and build what it requires together with a forward deployed engineering team.
  • Bring in solutions engineering, customer success, and product managers to help each customer reach their goal, and run feature betas with the product managers who own those features.
  • Turn what the program proves into the repeatable signal the company needs to scale, meaning the customer evidence, the deployment pattern, and the measured outcomes that the go-to-market and channel teams build sales plays on.
  • Improve the program each cycle so it reaches more design customers, raises delivery success rates and customer satisfaction, and shortens the time it takes the company to commercialize a new product.
  • Decide where 1Password should play in the customer's artificial intelligence stack to deliver the most customer value in securing agent access.
  • Identify and pursue the partnerships that let us play at those points and that complete an end-to-end customer outcome.
  • Work with partners to deliver integrations, and find the patterns that let us repeat an integration across similar partners instead of building each one from scratch.
  • Work with the business development team to structure commercial relationships that grow both companies' business and deliver value to shared customers.
  • Work with product enablement to build demos and enablement content that the field and our channel partners can use without your involvement.
  • Work with developer relations to grow adoption organically among developers, through reference architectures, sample code, and open source contributions.
  • Travel to design customer sites, partner meetings, and industry events approximately 10 to 20% of a given year.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of product management experience, including experience carrying a revenue or adoption target, with a preference for experience in security products, agentic products, or developer tools.
  • Experience owning the strategy for a new product area or market entry, and taking it from hypothesis to customers running in production.
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers on a technical deployment, as the person accountable for the outcome, and turning what those deployments proved into a repeatable motion a sales team can run.
  • Experience building technology partnerships and integrations, including judging where a product should sit in a larger technology ecosystem and working with business development on commercial terms.
  • Technical depth to hold a credible conversation with developers and security architects about how AI agents are built, deployed, and given access to systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to build alignment across go-to-market and engineering teams toward a shared goal, without direct authority over either.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and move work forward with incomplete information in a fast-changing market.
  • Takes ownership end to end, including the work that falls between teams.
  • Works AI-first: uses agents in daily work, and applies their own judgement to decisions, product taste, and customer and internal relationships.
  • Preferred: familiarity with agentic access products, meaning the products that give AI agents credentials and access to the systems they work in.

How We Work with AI

We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission.
