Director of Property

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Property to lead the management, performance, and evolution of our UK corporate property portfolio.

Salary

80-90k + bonus + bens


About the Role

This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing a number of large corporate office locations accommodating approximately 3,000 employees. Reporting to the executive leadership team, you will develop and deliver a property strategy that supports business objectives, enhances the workplace experience, and ensures our estate operates safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

This is an opportunity to shape the future of our workplaces while leading a multidisciplinary property function across a complex corporate estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the organisation's UK property strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and future growth.
  • Lead the operational management of the numerous corporate office locations, ensuring high standards of service, compliance, and workplace performance.
  • Provide strategic leadership for facilities management, building operations, workplace services, and property projects.
  • Ensure full compliance with all statutory property, health and safety, fire, environmental, and building regulations.
  • Lead capital investment programmes, refurbishments, office moves, and workplace transformation initiatives.
  • Manage property budgets, operating costs, and capital expenditure, driving value for money and commercial efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with executive leaders, business units, landlords, contractors, and external partners.
  • Oversee supplier performance and contract management, ensuring high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Champion sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental performance across the property portfolio.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing property and workplace team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Identify and manage property-related risks, ensuring business continuity and resilience across all sites.

Requirements

You are an accomplished property leader with significant experience managing complex corporate estates. You combine strategic thinking with operational excellence and have a proven ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and deliver large-scale property initiatives.

You will bring:

  • Significant senior leadership experience in corporate property, estates, or facilities management.
  • Experience managing large, multi-site corporate office portfolios.
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills, including budget ownership and supplier management.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK property legislation, health and safety, and statutory compliance.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering workplace transformation, refurbishment, or capital projects.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience developing high-performing teams.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree in Property, Estate Management, Surveying, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional membership of RICS, IWFM, or another relevant professional body.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
