Director of Quality, Standards & Operations

Full-time | Permanent
£60,000–£65,000 | Fully Remote

Our client, ABE UK, is looking for a Director of Quality, Standards & Operations to join its Senior Leadership Team at an important point in its development.

ABE has been supporting business education and aspiring entrepreneurs for 50 years and now operates across international markets. Following a period of positive change, the organisation is looking to modernise further, improve how it operates and support its next stage of growth.

Reporting to the MD, you will lead across quality, standards, compliance, assessment and operations, with three direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as ABE’s Ofqual Responsible Officer, ensuring regulatory and quality standards are maintained.
  • Providing strategic leadership across compliance, assessment, quality assurance and operations.
  • Leading organisational change, process improvement and operational transformation.
  • Identifying opportunities to use technology, automation and AI to improve efficiency and customer experience.
  • Providing practical solutions to complex regulatory and operational challenges across ABE’s international markets.
  • Working closely with the Managing Director, Board and SLT on risk, governance and organisational performance.
  • Developing managers and teams, creating greater accountability and helping move the organisation towards an improved strategic delivery model.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will ideally bring:

  • Senior leadership experience across quality, compliance, operations, governance, assessment or regulation.
  • Experience leading change and continuous improvement, rather than simply maintaining existing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to challenge established ways of working.
  • The ability to find a way to do things, which may not be apparent initially.
  • Experience working with regulators and senior stakeholders.
  • An interest in technology and modernising traditional/manual processes.
  • Awarding organisation, professional body, regulated education or Ofqual experience.
  • International experience is welcome, but not essential.

ABE is looking for a problem solver and a doer, someone who wants to improve the organisation, and live by such values.
