About the role:

The Director of Sales is responsible for driving profitable new business growth across The Collective portfolio. This is a proactive hunter role focused on identifying, developing, and converting strategic opportunities while building long-term client relationships.

As a Director of Sales, you will:

  • Develop and execute annual sales strategies aligned to The Collective’s growth objectives.
  • Build, manage, and maintain strategic target accounts and a qualified new business pipeline to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Identify market opportunities, industry trends, and client challenges to shape proactive sales strategies.
  • Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, events, partnerships, thought leadership, and marketing activity.
  • Build strong relationships with senior decision-makers and key buying influencers.
  • Lead discovery conversations and solution ideation workshops to develop compelling, client-focused value propositions.
  • Partner with creative, production, technology, delegate management, and Experience Design teams to develop winning solutions, proposals, and pitches.
  • Lead Go/No-Go assessments, bid strategy, and the management of complex RFPs, tenders, and pitch opportunities.
  • Embed client insight and voice-of-customer feedback into sales strategies, presentations, and proposals.

You’re good at:

  • Leading commercial negotiations and support contracting processes.
  • Maintaining accurate forecasting, CRM reporting, pipeline governance, and compliance with sales processes and tools.
  • Conducting win/loss analysis and share insights to strengthen future sales performance.
  • Ensuring successful handover of won business to operational teams.
  • Representing The Collective at industry events, networking forums, webinars, client events, and marketing campaigns as a brand ambassador and thought leader.
  • Working alongside other Sales and Account management personnel to ensure any cross sell/upsell opportunities are maximised

You should know:

  • This role offers hybrid working with 1-2 days a week in our Milton Keynes or Fleet office
  • Our standard working hours are 9:00am - 5:30pm with an hour break
  • Have the desire and ability to travel in the UK and Overseas on occasion
