Delta Hotels by Marriott Swindon

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Director of Sales to join the leadership team at Delta Hotels by Marriott Swindon.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality sales professional to take the lead on our property sales strategy, develop key client relationships and drive revenue growth across a range of market segments.

The Role

As Director of Sales, you will be a key member of the hotel’s Executive Team, working closely with the General Manager and wider leadership team to drive commercial performance and create a strong sales culture across the property.

You will proactively identify, develop and convert new B2B opportunities while growing existing accounts and maximising revenue across areas including Corporate & Business Travel, Groups & Catering, Sport, Entertainment and Travel Trade.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Developing and delivering proactive sales plans to achieve hotel revenue targets.
  • Identifying and converting new business opportunities across key market segments.
  • Managing and growing relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Leading Business Travel sales activity in partnership with Revenue teams.
  • Developing a strong understanding of the local market, competitors and emerging commercial opportunities.
  • Completing and managing RFP opportunities within required deadlines.
  • Conducting sales calls, client meetings, site inspections, networking activities, FAM trips and trade shows.
  • Maximising revenue through effective negotiation, upselling and account development.
  • Working collaboratively with Marriott's wider sales channels, including National and Global Sales.
  • Ensuring business is effectively communicated and handed over to operational teams.
  • Championing excellent customer service and building long-term client loyalty.
  • Playing an active role within the hotel's leadership team and wider commercial strategy.

About You

We are looking for someone who is confident, proactive and highly commercially focused, with the ability to build strong relationships and turn opportunities into results.

Ideally, You Will Have

  • Around 3 years' experience within hospitality sales and marketing, and/or a relevant higher education qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Tourism or a related field.
  • A proven ability to develop new business and grow existing accounts.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of hotel revenue opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • The confidence to engage with clients, senior stakeholders and the wider hotel leadership team.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering an excellent customer experience.
