Director of Sales - The Welcombe Hotel
Ready to Sell Something Special?
If you know how to turn conversations into contracts, ideas into revenue, and relationships into repeat business — we want to hear from you.
The Welcombe Hotel is looking for a passionate and commercially savvy Director of Sales to help take our stunning hotel, spa, golf, weddings, and events business to the next level.
This isn’t a desk-bound role for someone who likes hiding behind spreadsheets (although we do love a good forecast). This is for someone who thrives on meeting people, spotting opportunities, closing deals, and making things happen.
And if selling a stunning historic venue sounds like your thing — then our beautiful Calendar House is the perfect venue for you to promote!
About Us
Set within beautiful grounds and packed with character, The Welcombe Hotel is more than just a hotel. We’re weddings that people never forget, conferences that impress, spa days that unwind, golf breaks that compete, and weekend stays that create memories.
Now we need someone brilliant to help tell that story!
The Role
As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the hotel’s sales and business development strategy, driving revenue growth across corporate, leisure, meetings and events, weddings, golf, and spa markets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
