Position Summary

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious, visionary and commercially driven Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the commercial success of St. Pancras London, Autograph Collection. As a key member of the Executive Committee, you will shape and execute the hotel's commercial strategy, driving sustainable revenue growth, strengthening market presence and unlocking new opportunities across all business segments.

Leading a talented team of sales, events and marketing professionals, you will inspire exceptional performance, cultivate strategic client relationships and champion innovative commercial initiatives that enhance the guest experience and deliver outstanding business results. This role offers the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of one of London's most iconic hotels and play a defining role in its continued success within a globally recognised luxury hospitality brand.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a dynamic, forward-thinking commercial leader with the presence, credibility and ambition to drive one of London's most iconic hotels to new levels of success. With a proven track record of delivering exceptional revenue performance, growing market share and building high-performing teams, you will combine strategic leadership with a hands-on, on-property approach to execution. You will be highly visible across the hotel, working closely with operational teams, guests, ownership representatives and Marriott stakeholders to ensure commercial strategies are successfully translated into results. Recognised for your ability to influence senior stakeholders, identify emerging opportunities and create innovative commercial solutions, you will inspire excellence, foster collaboration and develop future talent while positioning the hotel as a market-leading destination for guests, clients and partners alike.

A degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related discipline is preferred. Experience within the luxury hospitality sector and a strong understanding of the London market would be highly advantageous. Fluency in English is essential, together with a career history that demonstrates progressive leadership experience, commercial achievement and a commitment to excellence.

What You Will Be Expected to Deliver

As Director of Sales & Marketing, you will lead the hotel's commercial strategy, driving revenue growth, market share and business performance while contributing to the overall success of the hotel as a member of the Executive Committee.

Key deliverables include:

  • Develop and execute a dynamic Sales & Marketing strategy aligned with the hotel's commercial objectives and long-term growth ambitions
  • Maximise revenue performance across all key market segments, driving occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and market share growth
  • Identify and capitalise on market trends, customer insights and emerging business opportunities to strengthen competitive positioning
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, industry partners, ownership representatives and Marriott commercial stakeholders
  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing commercial team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, innovation and excellence
  • Develop future talent through coaching, succession planning and leadership development initiatives
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of Sales, Marketing and Revenue Management performance to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency and revenue optimisation
  • Analyse market segmentation, pricing strategies, business mix, distribution channels and commercial performance to maximise revenue opportunities
  • Leverage commercial intelligence tools, including Cvent and Agency360, to improve market penetration, business performance and competitive advantage
  • Evaluate marketing strategies, campaigns, assets and content plans to ensure alignment with business objectives, brand standards and revenue goals
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise suite and premium room revenue, positioning and market demand
  • Design and execute targeted growth plans across Corporate, Consortia, Leisure and MICE segments
  • Strengthen sales deployment, account management and territory planning to maximise market coverage, productivity and customer engagement
  • Establish clear commercial governance, reporting frameworks, performance review processes and stakeholder accountability
  • Lead targeted commercial initiatives and sales campaigns that drive revenue growth, brand visibility and market share
  • Improve group and MICE performance through enhanced enquiry management, conversion strategies and business evaluation processes
  • Manage the Sales & Marketing budget effectively, ensuring investment decisions support business priorities and deliver strong returns
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue Management, Operations and Finance to deliver an aligned and effective commercial strategy
  • Represent the commercial function in ownership, Marriott and key stakeholder meetings, ensuring clear communication of strategy, performance and priorities
  • Deliver sustainable improvements in forecasting accuracy, pricing effectiveness, commercial performance and overall profitability through data-driven decision making
