About the Role
As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Director of Sales & Marketing to join our Executive Board and play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of our growth. This is an opportunity to lead the commercial agenda of a growing and innovative business, influence strategic direction, and shape the future of our products, customers, channels and market position.
We are looking for a strategic leader who can unite sales and marketing around a common growth strategy, leveraging customer insight, market intelligence, proposition development and digital engagement to create sustainable competitive advantage and accelerate commercial performance.
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and operating as a member of the Executive Board, you will define and lead the long-term Sales & Marketing strategy for CBS.
You will be responsible for defining both the short and long-term growth agenda for CBS, determining which markets, customer segments, channels, partnerships and propositions will deliver a sustainable competitive advantage and future commercial value.
Leading the broader Sales & Marketing functions, you will create the conditions that enable sustainable revenue growth, market leadership, proposition development and long-term enterprise value creation.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Direction and Market Position
- Defining and delivering the long-term Sales & Marketing strategy for CBS
- Determining strategic priorities across customer segments, channels, partnerships and market opportunities
- Identifying emerging opportunities, market shifts and commercial trends that could impact future growth.
- Ensuring CBS operates with a single, joined-up commercial strategy, growth plan and performance narrative across all routes to market
- Creating sustainable competitive advantage through brand & market positioning, proposition evolution, strategic partnerships, innovation and commercial differentiation
Commercial Performance
- Defining the commercial performance framework that drives sustainable growth, increases market share, accelerates customer acquisition and long-term value creation
- Defining the commercial governance, performance and investment frameworks required for high-performing sales and marketing teams to succeed
- Ensuring commercial investment is aligned to business priorities and growth opportunities

Market Insight & Proposition Development
- Ensuring customer, competitor and market insight informs strategic decision-making and future growth priorities
- Leading the evolution of CBS's products, propositions and routes to market
- Identifying future customer, market and proposition opportunities that strengthen CBS's competitive position
- Ensuring customer acquisition, retention and advocacy strategies are informed by market insight and support sustainable growth and long-term value
Executive Leadership, Culture & Organisational Influence
- Contributing to the strategic leadership of CBS as a member of the Executive Board, helping shape the culture, direction, commercial performance and priorities of the organisation
- Building and leading high-performing teams, creating an environment that promotes accountability, ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement
- Developing future organisational capability and leadership strength, ensuring CBS has the talent, structure, culture and commercial capability required to support long-term growth ambitions.
- Acting as the Executive Board lead for market opportunity, commercial growth and proposition evolution, ensuring CBS remains relevant, differentiated and positioned for sustainable long-term success
- Acting as an ambassador for CBS, inspiring confidence, creating followership and strengthening engagement through visible leadership, clear communication and advocacy of the CBS vision and values, while aligning colleagues behind the organisation's strategic priorities, commercial objectives and long-term success
Requirements
About You:
- You are a resilient and commercially driven executive who combines strategic thinking with a deep understanding of sales, customers, markets and growth.
- You are an excellent communicator who is able to build followers at every level, creating energy and momentum irrespective of the commercial landscape.
- You have an aptitude for understanding and communicating data and analysis, and have a proven record of being agile and adaptable to market changes.

Essential Experience
- Senior leadership experience influencing at Executive, Board or senior leadership level
- Senior leadership experience within a Sales or Marketing related role
- Strong commercial judgement, market awareness and strategic decision-making capability
- Experience shaping sales & marketing strategy, commercial performance, product development and organisational direction at Executive or Board level
- Proven track record of delivering sustainable revenue growth and achieving ambitious commercial targets
- Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies, growth plans and customer acquisition programmes
- Experience developing strategic partnerships and managing key customer relationships
- Experience using market intelligence, customer insight and competitor analysis to shape strategic decisions
- Proven track record around communication, influence and followship skills
Desirable Experience
- Automotive, automotive finance, leasing, fleet, employee benefits or financial services experience
- Ownership of brand strategy, market positioning and proposition development
- Experience leveraging automation, data and technology to improve sales performance.
- A proven ability to build high-performing teams, develop organisational capability and create cultures that deliver sustainable growth
- A proven ability to influence strategic decision-making and balance commercial opportunity, risk and long-term value creation
