Why join The Vineyard Hotel?

The Vineyard is one of England’s most celebrated country house hotels: a Five Red Star, Relais & Châteaux property renowned for its exceptional food, its world-class wine cellar and its warmth of hospitality. Following a multi-million-pound refurbishment, it is preparing for a new chapter, and we are looking for the Director of Sales who will help write it.

This is a rare chance to be at the forefront of the rebirth of an iconic hotel: to shape how The Vineyard returns to market, to build its corporate and MICE business from a refreshed product, and to establish it as the destination of choice for discerning businesses across Berkshire, London and the Thames Valley.

The role

We are seeking an experienced and well-connected Director of Sales to lead all sales activity for The Vineyard, with a primary focus on Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) and Corporate business. The role is dedicated solely to The Vineyard and will drive revenue from corporate accounts, agencies and event organisers, while supporting the hotel’s luxury leisure and consortia business.

Working closely with the General Manager and on-property teams, and as part of the wider Monogram Collective Commercial Team, the successful candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, established relationships within the UK corporate and luxury MICE market, and the ambition to define the hotel’s sales success through and beyond its relaunch.

You’ll also:

Strategic Sales Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for The Vineyard, with MICE and Corporate as the priority segments, aligned to the hotel’s relaunch plan and the Monogram Collective commercial strategy.
  • Set annual and monthly segment targets for meetings, conferences, incentives, private events and corporate accommodation, and own delivery against them.
  • Lead the commercial launch of the refurbished meetings and events spaces, ensuring the product is positioned, priced and packaged to win high-value business from day one.
  • Identify and develop new markets and sectors, with particular focus on London, the Thames Valley and the M4 corridor business community.

MICE & Events Sales

  • Proactively generate and convert MICE business, including board meetings, leadership retreats, conferences, product launches, incentive programmes and exclusive-use events.
  • Build and manage relationships with leading UK venue-finding agencies, event management companies, DMCs and incentive houses.
  • Lead site inspections, show-rounds and client entertaining, showcasing the hotel’s food, wine and service credentials as a core part of the sales proposition.
  • Work closely with the on-property events team to ensure a seamless handover from contract to delivery, and to drive rebooking and repeat business.
  • Develop compelling packages and proposals that maximise total revenue, including accommodation, food and beverage and ancillary spend.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
